How do you transport flower bouquets?
To all you sweet romantics, how do y'all carry bouquets of flowers on your scooter? I got a rose from a very nice gentleman the other night, and the ride home in Pinky Tuscadero's glovebox did it grievous bodily harm. See also, rolled-up posters, tall umbrellas, etc.
But yeah, flowers....*le sigh*

1. Have the florist wrap the bouquet in extra layers of paper, covering the blooms as well as the stems. Tie the paper shut with extra string/raffia.
2. Put the bouquet in a messenger bag. Good messenger bags will hold an amazing amount of stuff, including large bouquets. Be careful not to crush the blooms.
3. Put the vase in the pet carrier.
4. Ride with the messenger bag hanging in front of you, not behind, so that the leg shield protects the bouquet from the wind.
5. Go!
I don't have a Buddy, but I've carried flowers to my wife this way on my TN'G several times.

For our anniversary this past summer, I bought my wife a dozen roses and I seem to remember putting them in an ordinary plastic grocery bag and hanging them from the legshield hook.
Worked for me!

Last time I transported a bouquet, I had the bottom wrapped pretty well then zipped it up in my jacket, leaving the top loose enough not to crush them. It worked pretty well.

similar for me, just go a little slower and cradle the buds with your knees!vaderscoot wrote:he said craddle the buds!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to give credit where credit is due - I'm not the one that craddled the buds. Even though our fair town has voted this past Tuesday that the police should make bud craddling a lower priority on their list of things to arrest people for, there will be no bud craddling from yours truly.

Tried this once a long time ago. Arrived with bouquet destroyed by the wind. Stood there feeling like a complete fool. Gave it to her anyway. Was hoping maybe the silly pathos of the act would carry the moment. Needless to say, things didn't work out.
I vote for Eric's method if you are going to try it.

well if just one rose, why not between your teeth?
. I have done a few things with a bouquet of flowers: bungied in my rear basket, and put in a backback with the top unzipped. Its one of those things like a long french baguette or a case of wine that you dont think about until you have to do it. unLuckily there are worse problems in life

i don't live far from trader joe's and transport flowers home all the time. I place a reusable tj bag on the floorboard and brace between my feet. There is always something else in the bag-wine or bagette, etc. If the flowers are delicate i place a plastic bag over the top. if not, like sunflowers, leave them covered in the plastic that comes with them...get lots of smiles from motorists.
