Bought my Buddy 125 while still in Afghanistan!

Im so excited

I just bought my 2012 Buddy 125 but im still in Afghanistan. I got a few more months left. She'll be waiting for me when I get home. Anyone got some newbie pointers for me while I wait? Or even some good sites. I'm loving this site already.

Btw this is my 1st scooter.

I CAN'T WAIT TO GO HOME!!!!

Not that you need to be told this, but: keep your head down for the next few months.

And rest assured that although some people back home question the mission, nobody will ever question your service.

As for pointers on riding the scooter: keep the rubber parts in contact with the pavement.

Congratulations, its cool you'll have a new scoot to look forward to riding on paved streets back in "the world" once you get here. What gave you the idea over there? Didi you see any scooters or scooter trikes scrambling down the rods there with a 3 passengers on them?

Congrats on the scoot. Get some gear when you pick it up.

They can run air drones from the US, and one day they'll have ground bots doing the same thing. The house to house stuff will be a while, but rampaging up and down the roads is probably a decade or less away.

As the others said thank you & stay safe.

If you haven't done so already take the MSF class especially since every military base I know requires it and a m/c license to ride on base. We has a sailor home on leave taking it when I took mine (cute kid just finished basic who did everything perfectly until the vial test when he got so nervous he dropped the bike - so use the bike or scoots if they offer scoots mine did).

Post back where you will be bases and if there is anyone here local they'll connect you with other local scooter riders.

So it has been a year and as of Wednesday I am Motorcycle Safety Foundation cleared on my Buddy. I do have to say it was the most fun I have ever had... especially for taking a class. I HIGHLY recommend taking the course.

I remember my last few months in Iraq, that's exactly how I spent my time off shopping online or planning on how I would spend the money when I got back. You've already done better than I did with my money, haha. Congrats on the new scoot. Stay safe..

That's cool. My son was a MP in the army while he was in. He got out 2 years ago. I have friends and family in every service- active and reserve.

Check on base once you get home, I don't know for sure but it sounds to me, there's a military specific class you have to take to ride on post.
Quite embarrassing, though the 'gate guards' said nothing to me, we were on post at the Army War College several weeks back at the PX. The Post Commandant was eying my Buddy, not his R6, asked us if we had the "proper documentation" to ride on post, he answered in the affirmative, I as a civilian (I am however, former military) do not

Come on Colonel, you and I went to High School together....... I had to walk the scoot to the post gate!!
