Popped a Wheelie today
Didn't think a 125 had it in her to do this, but this morning at a stop light on a tiny incline, light turned green, throttle to about 1/2 and wouldn't you know my front tire came off the ground for about 2 seconds. Scared the crap out of me, I mean its only 125cc of mad power apparently. I don't sit very far back, just right before the ridge of the seat, was carrying a small swimbag in the top case as I do every tuesday and thursday. After the pucker moment of thinking I was going to go down, I sorta chuckled. Who would have thought.

Same thing happened to me. I was turning right at a light. There was an incline of about 8 degrees on the road I was pulling onto. When I gunned it I also hit a lump in the road as I began the incline. Sure enough, the front wheel popped up for a couple seconds. Here's the funny part.... While I was at the light a car in the next lane over from the lane I was pulling out into (heading the same direction), had a guy in the passenger seat. He was motioning to me to pop a wheelie. I was shaking my head no. So as he's going by and I turn onto the road, my front wheel lifts and he's looking back pumping his fist smiling. It was totally by accident, but the timing couldn't have been better.

I did that. I forgot I was on the center stand while awaiting a friend who lives 2 blocks away. when he went town the alley, I tried to do the same, and didn't move. Oops, on the center stand, so I pushed off, but the back wheel was still spinning. off I went blazing down on one wheel!
I've never been a daredevil, even on a bicycle. it was...interesting! at least I didn't dump it.

With a 170i, there has GOT to be a way to get a wheelie out of it! It's the same weight as a 125 (within grams). There just has to be a different technique. If I can get the front wheel up regularly on the Rattler and come close on a 125, there is a way on a 170
