Holiday Scooter Decorating Ideas

Post by pcbikedude »

I just purchased a set of battery operated LCD Christmas lights to put on my scooter. I was just going to zip tie them to the Buddy's handlebars.

Too plain?

Is anyone else going to do anything?

I have to go to one of those crafts stores to find a wreath small enough. Wonder if it would go on the back? I have a rack.

You can buy a cheap wreath at a thrift store. I bought one last year for the back of the sidecar. Only cost me a buck.

I put vinyl window clings on my windscreen for October, a fun jack-o-lantern face, that I got at Tar-jay...I plan to do the same with Christmas clings. They work great, but I don't know how they will do in the cold. We'll see...

I'm thinking of getting battery operated LEDs and putting them on a wreath on the legshield. I need something I can turn off easily because they're not exactly legal. But for the annual holiday light festival ride.

Got the LED lights and the wreath. I think I'm going to add a red bow. I'm trying to figure out the best way to secure it.

I found some wreaths with battery-operated lights, but they're kind of pricey. I may make my first-ever trip to a Wal-Mart to see what I can dig up. I hear they have everything.

I'll be hanging the wreath from the bars for my windshield, ptovided it's not too heavy.

Everything on my wreath is complete, lights and bows (daughter's idea). I hung mine by removing the front panel, hooked some wire so I could secure the bottom of the wreath, at the top I ran a green pipe cleaner through the the vent holes for the horn.

Pictures coming. I'm not quite done yet. I want to do something for the rear of the Buddy.

Eric, the light set, that I got from Walmart, does have an on-off switch.

Additional lights Illegal???

I am not a "crafty" girl, but craft stores always have seasonal stuff in all sizes for rock bottom prices. I even had a Hawaiian theme going for a while-for a mere couple bucks.

Yep. There are state laws regulating where and what color lights you can add, whether they can blink, the rate of blinking, etc.

If the riding season is over in your neck of the woods, you may want to do something like this.

Mine don't blink, are very small, and not bright. Colors Red and Green only.

Yeah, red is definitely illegal for accessory lights. Only brake lights and police signals for red. I doubt it'd be a problem, really, unless you ride all over with the lights on or run into a Scrooge of a cop.
