i hear there's a decent number of Buddys in Tulsa. I'm in OKC, and it seems that every ride we have (OKC Curiosity SC) there is another Buddy showing up.

Just as soon as mine gets out of the shop (engine blew), I'll be back out there myself.

New Oklahoma Buddy

Post by InBloom71 »

I am so darn excited! I have put the $500 on a new Buddy to reserve it and also orderd some cosmetic pieces for it. My wife and I will pick it up from Atomic Brown December 10th. I don't think I can wait that long. If they have it ready earlier I may have to get it then. The only other scooter I have ridden was a rented 50cc at Grand Caymen Island. It struggled to carry my wife and I 28mph. That was full throttle. From what I understand the Buddy 125 should have no trouble what so ever to carry my wife and I in the neighborhood of 50mph or so. Does anyone do this with their Buddy on a regular basis???

My wife and i ride two up quite a bit (and together we exceed the suggested weight limit) our problem isn't going fast (though 50 mph would have to be at full throttle) it's fitting on there together. in fact my wife usually drives the 2 of us because i can't stand to sit right at the front of the seat with the handlebars in my chest.
that being said we do ride 2 up relatively comfortably but as soon as we can afford it maybe this summer, we'll be getting one for her.

My husband and I both ride Buddies. We live in Tulsa-midtown. I have often thought it would be fun to go on a ride with a bunch of Buddy riders. Maybe we can all meet up for the ABATE Toy Run in Tulsa. Anyone planning on attending? I am.

yeah, you'll be fine riding two-up on the B125. I've done it many times and it gets around just fine. It is a little cramped, though. I'm 6'0" and it gets a little old with both of you on there after awhile. I have some friends that rode two-up on their Buddy all during our rally last year (2006) but decided to spring for a second one shortly thereafter.

If you're interested, check out www.okccuriosity.com for more details on our club!

Still waiting on the Buddy.

Post by InBloom71 »

I am still waiting on my red Buddy. I am supposed to get a call today. Today would be a great day to ride. At least the sun is out. I don't know how warm it is supposed to be.
