NSR: Fake Dakar truck filled with cocaine confiscated

Post by siobhan »

Ok, I never post these kinds of threads, but this is freakin' awesome. Guys mock-up a truck to look like a support vehicle for Dakar (what? more here), stuff it to the gills with coke and other drugs, and ship it to Europe. Brilliant! I wonder how they got caught.

Wow. Opportunity seized. Really quite clever. I just feel bad for all the future legitimate support truck operators who will no doubt now have to go through 99 levels of additional security check procedures.

I wonder how many scooters I could get with all the money confiscated along the drugs?

How times have changed. I can remember when the story would have been the 800 kilos of hash in the truck, and the coke was just for personal use.

Damn near a ton of coke. I wonder what the volume of 1800lbs of coke is?

Drug cartels get really inventive with their transport means. I mean, despite all the bad they do, you kind of have to give them a gold star for creativity!

From the story: "As well as the cocaine, police also seized 15,000 ecstasy tablets, 4.5kg of hash, two guns and almost 47,000 euros in cash."

It was 1800kg of coke, not pounds! That's almost 4000lbs!

The posted headline shows 800kgs; either way, that's a lotta blow!

I wonder if they've ever shipped coke in a container of Coca Cola?

LOL, I misread; it's 800kg.

They have shipped coke in a container of Coca Cola… when Coke contained coke.
