Hi everyone! This may be a silly question, but i am brand new to scooting. I bought a dynamo pink 2006 buddy 50 off craigslist 2 weeks ago. Got it for a song from the original owner, it was sooooper well maintained and had only 1215 miles on it. I have already out 200 miles on her and i looooove her!
Here is my question, how in the world do iblock the steering wheel? I was just reading about people locking theirs at night and i thought, huh? I just emailed the girl i bought it from but thought i would email you all too. The original owners manual says that you can lock the steering wheel but doesnt say how. Heeeeelp a new svooter girl out!

Correct. If you push the key inward, you'll just pop open the seat.
You might have to move the handlbar a bit at the far left most turned position before you can get the key into the lock position. But once you've found that sweet spot the first time, it'll become second nature to you. All of this being said, unless you live in a really low crime area, you should do more than just the steering lock.
Keep doubling the chain, its part of the layered deterrent system. The more layering the less desirable it becomes to steal, and there are women thieves that wouldn't mind a pink Buddy. ( <-- double-entendre has entered the building).

always start with the simple, it may end up costing you little to nothing

Guess I'm spoiled with my Big Ruckus which locks either way.
Most motorcycles in general only lock to the left to help with keeping stability while on the kickstand. Turning the bars right shortens the wheel base making them easier to get tipped over. So if you are putting your big ruck on the kickstand, I'd suggest turning the column towards that side. Center stand, it won't matter either way.
also don't forget, you can pop open your seat while the scoot is still running . . . just make sure you push in the key and KEEP it pushed in, turn to the left till you hear it pop open, then turn back to the on position. saves my life when i forget to take something out before heading out

I just did this on accident the other day and was happily surprised!!
^^^^ Thanks for the tip. I didn't know that! I am constantly forgetting to take out my gloves, or something, after I've already started the scooter up.

Ooooh this is good to know. Between this and the helmet pegs, which I hadn't used the whole first 15 months I owned a scooter, the Buddy is full of Easter eggs!
