Oil level center stand or side stand

Should the oil level be checked while it's on the side stand or center stand?The level appears substantially lower when on the side stand

+1. You want it nice and warm.

DO NOT pull the dipstick while scooter is running. I will sheepishly confess to having rather absentmindedly don't this.
