Stella knocked over

Hi all,
Some ass hat knocked over my scooter at some point over the weekend...

I guess that is bound to happen parking in the street...

So I now have some moderate patches of road rash on the left cowl and front fender... not to mention some major deformity of the front fender that I was able to more or less bend back to normal.

I know that I need to seal the road rash areas, but need advice on what to use or how to go about it. Someone I know suggested clear nail polish, but the areas seem a bit large for that. I am not going to bother fixing the paint for fear that this will just happen again so I was wondering what I should do before the rust starts to set in.

From my experience (my wife knocked mine down while trying to move it with the wheel lock on- no big deal) the primer is pretty solid under the paint, so I just left the scratches alone. If you feel like you are looking at metal, you might want to touch it up with something, but I'd make sure you clean it first really good. My 4T is a real rough and tumble 'get around' type vehicle, so I don't mind the scratches a bit. I do use wax though, since I park outside a lot.

This has happened to me twice, two different scooters, with some pretty serious damage in both cases. Grrrr.

There's new color-matched touch up paint available at most Genuine dealers and I think they're selling a clear coat as well. Comes in pen form and spray.

It doesn't take much to scratch some parts to the metal. The paint on the cowls and fender seems a big heavier than on the legshield and floorboard. It will ruse pretty quickly, too. I have a couple spots under the scoot from scraping bottom on some turns.

I recently purchased a 2012 Stella two-tone white & blue and it came with 2 vials of paint, one of each color, luckily I haven't had to use it yet

Open the vials. Unless they're replacing the LML paint with paint from the new supplier, most people have found the touch up in the vials is dried up.

I bought a clear coat pen at autozone and covered the scratches. So much for having nice things in the city...
