Buddy 50 leaking oil from oil sensor cap.

I've got a PGO metro 50 (same as the buddy) and noticed an oil leak. I traced it to the sensor cap on the 2 cycle oil tank. It leaks out of the cap where the wires go into it, drips down the wire and then onto the ground.

Am I filling it up too full or does my sensor need replacing already?

I've got less than 800 miles on the scoot so far.
