[NSR] Ted
I went to see Ted yesterday with a friend who grew up in Dorchester. I expected to hate it. We laughed like idiots! If you are a fan of Family Guy or the Rachel Dratch / Jimmy Fallon Boston high schoolers skits on SNL, you'll laugh your ass off like a bastard.
(I suppse I could tag this SSR because there is a shot of a Metro somewhere.)

I tired of Family Guy years ago, but thought Ted was pretty funny. Granted, I saw it for free (or scooter group gets passes sometimes!) and I had very low expectations.
Also: FLASH GORDON. Yeah, I was right there with him on that one when I was a kid.

It amuses me to no end that Batmanuel is the Mayor of Gotham in the Nolan Batman movies.Syd wrote:I know, Flash Gordon and The Tick! Ted is hilarious - the wife & I were looking forward to it since we saw the 1st trailer. We finally had a chance this past week to see it & really enjoyed it.
One of the many things that makes Seth Macfarlane so funny is the way he grabs onto something for a "bit" & then stays with it long after most people would let it go.
Flash would have been a throw away mention in any other movie.... but Seth is like a dog with a bone with it.
Its one of the reasons Family Guy is must DVR TV for me.
Several TV shows have done Star Wars parody episodes or scenes (Robot Chicken, That 70's Show, Futurama, South Park, etc) but Seth remakes the entire first 3 movies!
If you haven't seen those on DVD (unedited for TV) I highly recommend them.
