Anyone have any idea what this stuff is the dealer used in one of their many attempts to reapply the reflectors before I bought the scooter? Specifically the yellow stuff:
It's hard and has some air bubbles trapped in it.
I saw what looked like the same stuff oozing from around some reflectors some one had mounted on a bumper.
What ever the stuff was it didn't work, I see residue from at least 4 attempts to attach the reflectors and they still fell off within 100 miles of me owning the scooter.
I want to have some reflective checkers made up but I have to get this stuff off before I can apply the vinyl.
Probably Gorilla Glue. Long ago when I worked at a car dealership we used to use a glue with that color, I think it was a 3M trim adhesive, that we called Camel Snot. I googled 3M trim adhesive and apparently it's clear now, so they probably aren't using real camels anymore.
Just searched online and the only way it's coming off is with sandpaper or a chisel... Then repaint.
Wonder if the dealer bought the bike new or from another dealer that went belly up, talking with an owner of the dealership they said they got a bunch of bikes that way. If they bought it new I could probably get them to repair/replace the fender. If they got it from another dealer, I bet I would have a hard time, because the buck can easily be passed.
