Missing Bolt????
I was doing that first early break in oil change earlier this evening (supposed to be at 186 miles but I went a little past to 200 miles). While I was waiting for the engine oil to drain out I noticed I could see a very shiny hole with threads in it just above and to the right of the big oil drain plug. Can anybody tell me from the picture I took if that is normal or should there be a bolt in there. It seems like a lot of dirt and whatever could eventually get in there and it worries me a bit.

Good deal.
Good deal. I thought maybe there was supposed to be a long long bolt in there that holds the engine case together or something. Hey maybe there are Buddies out there with a power steering unit on that bolt hole! It would be totally useless and add 30 pounds to the Buddy and rob half the horsepower but it would be a scooter first.

The real drain plug.

There was another thread that identified another bolt that is lower on the case than the screened one. I first tried to undo a bolt on the other side of the case that looked like every last drop would come out of but the socket from my set was too thick to fit all the way on. I thought maybe this might be a bolt that holds the case together since it is a little hard to fit with a wrench or a socket. My sockets are actually impact sockets. That may be why it did not fit between the side of the bolt and the case. [/quote]
