4 Valve Head

Post by royallthefourth »

Anyone installed a 4-valve head?
Any thoughts on performance, impact on reliability, and difficulty of the task? I'm thinking of getting this later this year if it's not a terrible idea for some reason.

seems interesting if you were rebuilding anyway, but I dunno if I would go gangbusters for it

It seems that some of the ruckus guys are running the 4 valve head. Not all of them had luck with it I know it is a stock head on some model somewhere. They also say the 2 valve head gives out more torque and does not rev as high. Hopefully you have the 4 valve Piston .. remember that the one that is stock is only for 2 valves !

Hopefully that helps some people

Not sure you would really gain much in terms of performance. You would need to make changes to the carb and pipe to take advantage of the heads better flow. As the other poster said you would need too swap piston as well but if you had to rebuild anyway it could be a fun project.
