New Battery - CarQuest part number

Post by ScootLemont »

While I like supporting scooterworks, I didn't want to order a battery from them & then take it someplace to get the acid.
My local Carquest autoparts store didn't have a conversion for the part number but we looked it up in the catalog by size.
If anyone need's one, its CarQuest # 71149
It was $40 with acid (after the $10 trade in on the old core)

Now.... if scooterworks will just get in the battery straps.... and the centerstand boots....

We bought ours at Batteries Plus, I think it was under $40. It was just sitting there on a shelf waiting for a Stella.

No local scooter shops. No cycle shops in town either.
I do try to shop local so I was glad my local auto parts store was able to get me a battery (In about 2 hours )

And thanks for the tip harmcity

so as long as the battery is a 12v6ah, does it matter who its made by? Is there any benefit to the scooter, by using a Prima battery?

In my experience there is little difference between brands when talking about regular wet type power sports batteries.

Absorbed glass mat batteries are a step up and gel batteries are a step above those but I have not felt they were worth the extra $ for a scooter.

I suppose there could be some inexpensive no name batteries out there, buy I haven't come across any.
