T5 style plastic storage tray for Stella

Post by slotrod65 »

I have one of those plastic storage trays for my Stella, but i Really do not want to drill holes in the glovebox for mounting it.

Instead, I am trying this out: foam formed to fit and attached with two sided tape.

I cut the foam to the basic shape, and then fine tunes by sanding. As the two sided tape is about 1/16" thick, I sanded the foam down, bit by bit, added the two sided tape to the tray side, then sanded more. Below are photos of the underside of the tray with the two pieces of foam just set in.

I will let you guys know if this works out.

You could try using strong magnets to hold it to the glovebox top.

Me, I put holes in my bike but my bike looks like Crap and that's OK :)

I just realized I have to hold off on this for a bit. I am replacing the black glovebox rubber with grey, so I need to do that before installing the tray. Oh yeah, I have to wait for the glovebox rubber to be delivered...
