Top cases are for Wallstreet Fat Cats?

Milk crates for the 99%?

I don't have one on mine, I use cloth grocery bags for hauling stuff.

I didn't think about the storage space on the Stella....makes sense now...
My comment wasn't to bash anyone, so I apologize if I offended anyone..I just didn't think about the storage. I had lots of friends back in the 80's and 90's that did the same thing on their motorcycles... Most definitely if your riding for the economy of riding, no sense in spending 4-500 dollars for something that can be done using something that's basically free....

My Buddy has a milk crate attached to it. I've had that milk crate longer than I have owned a scooter.

Lol, I haven't been here enough yet to really get to know people. After reading my post again, it sounded like I was being kind of a jerk, but like you, I was just being a bit silly with my comment.

I REALLY thought about adding one of my plastic milk crates before I bought a top case.

It was a hard choice, but I need things that are enclosed a lot of times.

I don't like the look of that big blob suspended in mid-air off the back of the scoot. For a while I had a small - about the size of two strawberry baskets side by side - bungied to the back of my SYM. But even that got to be too much for my taste.

What I've thought of doing is somehow mounting a top case to the pillion seat. I just haven't figured out how to securely mount it and still have access to the pet carrier and not destroy the seat. Someday, though...

I have a pink crate. The crate is probably 30 years old--it was in my college dorm room.

I've been looking at some older metal milk crates on Etsy though. They are a bit wider and that might be handy. But I haven't decided yet.

I'll have to keep an eye out for a mustardy green/olive drab milk crate, to preserve the Int'l color scheme...

:P

Scully, if I find one, there'll probably be a second, I'll send it your way. :D

If your getting a rack go for the vintage BBQ Rack!

Unless you have a 4T that is, They won't fit on the 4T due to the fuel tank design.

And SonnyD you should try one out, They are totally fun and shifting is a lot of fun.

Well, in all honesty, the milk crates look better then a lot of the boxes I see. Not that there is anything wrong with them, but as someone mentioned, it's the way they are perched out over the back... I have a Quick release Tour pak on my Harley, and it isn't perched out over the back. But obviously as large as the Harley is, they can tuck the box in some... I'm sure if I ever get a Stella, I'll get me a milk crate too, or one of those metal ones..

When my multi-decade old 13x18 inch milk crate. blue to match the scoot, started to fall apart I did this.

I spent most of my ownership of the buddy up to that point thinking and looking for what would work for what I wanted in lieu of the milk crate which I knew would eventually fall apart. It was the constant thought for the ultimate mod, every time I was anywhere that had anything I would look!! (I can get a bit obsessive sometimes)

I prefer to use my milk crates as shelving.

I use a kitty litter bucket on my scooter. it's watertight, has a convenient handle, can be used as a seat when working on the Stella, or can be used to prop the bike up on.

They are so versatile. I love em, and i don't even have a cat anymore.
