Carrying a Tripod
I know I can't be the only one who likes to scoot around and take photos. I am wondering if there's a good way to carry a tripod with me. I've thought about just strapping it to the rear grab bar... but I was curious if anyone has tried anything more creative.

Maybe if you took a picture of it, open, next to the Buddy, it might inspire some ideas. Tripods can close up and become quite narrow, or remain huge when folded...it's hard to get an idea exactly of the scope of the question you have.

In these pics, it looks small & light enough that you could perhaps mod a guitar strap or similar and just wear it across your back without any discomfort or movement restriction.
If not that, maybe put it so that it sits alongside of the seat, strapped from one end over and around the base of seat, back to & under the grab bar, securing the strap to the other end...?

This may not be necessary, but a long time ago I made a tripod bag out of a a part of a leg of jeans. This bag protects the tripod and scoot from damage. I just bungie the tripod in the bag to the rear rack. If you don't have a rack you could probably do the same with the grab bar, it just wouldn't be separated from the back of the seat, but should still be secure.

I've actually bungied my tripod in that exact way more than a few times. I have both a point-n-shoot and a DSLR and I'll carry one or the other most of the time.
Once I put my point-n-shoot on the tripod and took video of my ride.

I have some adjustable elastic straps (not quite s stretchy as bungees) and velcro straps. (I bought a roll of velcro several years ago and it's proven pretty handy.)
I've used these to carry poster tubes and such on the scooter by fashioning a strap that will hand along the side of the scoot, like a saddle bag.Stays out of the way.
I've also carried some large tubes by just sticking them in my backpack and letting them jut out of the top.

That's the first thing I thought of for a solution (bungying on to the rear rack), and the most likely way I'd do it in your situation. The other way I might do it would be to bungie the bottom to the floorboard, folding up the tripod and setting it vertically, then secure the top by a bungie that goes under the seat--which is what I have pictured below.iMoses wrote:I've actually bungied my tripod in that exact way more than a few times.
Since I built a platform and attached it to my rear rack, and have a front rack, bungying on to one of those would be my choice.
