150cc carb question - vacuum system with aftermarket filter

Post by Roofaloof »

I'm planning on putting an aftermarket filter on my 2009 Black Jack. Right now I'm thinking this one: http://www.buggypartsnw.com/home?page=s ... duct_id=33

There are two hoses vacuum attached to the factory intake I'm wondering what I'm going to do with. I believe one is the crankcase breather and the other I don't know. It appears to be connected to the gas tank somehow.

It seems to me that the easiest way to deal with these after the filter install would be to tee into the vacuum system after the carb and hook both of these back up again. See attached picture for what I'm talking about. Does anyone have experience with intake mods and its vacuum system?

Also, there's a hose on the underside of the carb that's not hooked up to anything. Does anyone know what this is? See second pic.

Thanks for any help!

The hose that isn't hooked up could be your drain hose for the carburetor.

If you open the drain does fuel come out that hose?

I think it might be the drain line. It's close to a screw on the bottom of the carb.

I custom made an intake for my 30mm carb out of abs plastic and connected the lines via that with brass barbed fittings I could get you pictures if you want.

I'd like pics of that. Sent you a PM.

Thanks!
