I'm fighting a over heating issue and am wondering if the Stella 2t cylinder heat shroud will fit over a malossi 166 kit and if i had one would it help with cht at around 50 mph ?

Yeah....you really realy really need it. It directs the air from the flywheel fins around the head to cool it. If you're hitting 400 deg you are riding right on the edge...keep the clutch covered!
It will easily fit over a kitted top end. Remember that even if you put a stroker crank in the most you are raising it is a millimeter or two

Learn to use the CHT...at 400 with cast iron I'm surprised it didn't seize.

Howard's bike had a little trouble with the Malossi 166 kit and the shroud. I remember it getting pinched between the cylinder fins and the airbox protrusion that houses the autolube pump. I had to notch the shroud there to allow enough clearance for the airbox to seat fully and allow the shroud to be removed/installed with the airbox installed.
At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

wow ,,,, i had no idea, it was a basket case when i bought it, it seized on the last guy ,, he wrecked it and ended up with a fractured disk in his back, so i thought i got a pretty good deal .. only 200 miles on a rebuild , worb 5 crank and all . piston had minor scuff and the cylinder was unhurt ! ( malossi 166 ) . i cleaned it all up and have been tinkering with it since January when i got it running again . so far i turned the timing back to 18deg. he had it at like 24deg. re jetted the carb (24/24e), he had a be4 mixer and a 140 main. swapped the 226 h-bomb off for a sito till i worked out the temp deal .... found a major air leak at the reed block. ihad to take a file to it to get it flat again , replaced all gaskets and installed a new GGR hot reed. its running great but i don't run it long until i get the shroud installed ( i ordered it from scooterwest ).
I'm concerned with the condition of the crank seals , i believe its been hot a lot ! the guy that owned it before me obviously had no idea what he was doing ...
it was funny when i took the reed block off and found he had cut the gasket and replaced part of it with a piece of cardboard over the autolube shaft hole i guess when he mad it a premix only unit !
