Ta DAH!

Post by snoozy »

Been offline for a few days camping (did you miss me? ) We went to Idaho and bought a BUDDY!! :)

Yes, it is a Seafoam green 125. I know I said I didn't want Seafoam. I know. I still don't, and plan to get it repainted as soon as possible. But even so, it is in beautiful condition, and is purty even in Seafoam! (I could go down to the building salvage store and find a matching seafoam commode from 1958, I'll bet...)

Congratulations!

Don't need to paint it, just do a panel swap. I'm sure somebody would love some Seafoam panels.
At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

Seriously...I've lost count...

Congrats, snoozy, on the Zombie Blood buddy. Zombies never die, you know (well, never unless you shoot 'em in the head, or chop their head off, or burn 'em).

Yay! Now you're official!

I love the seafoam color, but it's cool that you can customize too.

What's her/his name?

Not sure what its name will be -- not sure if it is a she or a he yet (I haven't looked! )

I took it for a spin on our road. I am not legal yet, so I am just going on our quiet little country road here. It had no problem going up the steep hill! Yay!

2008 Buddy 125 ...currently in Seafoam, but one day in metallic aqua!

Looking forward to seeing this upgrade when done!

Kudos on the (new) scoot!

A VERY nice purchase. I like the matte black mirrors. They would go very nice with my also newly purchased Blackjack. Any idea of their origin?

They resemble the mirrors on the Yamaha C3.

Good eye! (Or salacious eye, l'm not sure which...) Those are a couple of blue LED mods the previous owner put in. He also put on the black mirrors, but i dont know what type they are.

I'm thinking they look like C3 mirrors too. Got them on both my scoots.

Took my scooter to the supermarket last week. Parked amongst all the gargantuan FUVs and asphalt coloured vehicles. Looked like a little upstart. But very stylish! Came out and as I was putting on my helmet, the woman getting into her car next to me said, "By the way, I love your ride. Especially the colour!" Today as I sat in a turn lane waiting for the light to change, a guy in a contractor's pick-up gave me an "OK" sign at my scooter. :D I am going to wait until winter to paint it -- when I can't ride it. I'm really enjoying this scooter! And it has great power on hills. Better than my car, actually.

Snoozy, that color is so cool. And yes, Buddys are small. They are also very fast for their class. A bit bumpy I admit, but as flickable a scoot as there is.

The colour is growing on me...but it will look terrific in something like the Vespa aquamarine, too:

I am going out on a limb here...........ride that scoot! Don't change it a bit!

It you have the money, got for a 300.

I have a way of being an asshole. I hope we keep getting along. You are a good person.

Don't mess with the color. My opinion.

Nice scooter! I like the Seafoam but a custom repaint could be a fun winter project! Keep us updated!

I'm trying to visualize the color change you want. What I'm picturing is something like the below. Am I on the right track? Too much blue? Too little? Just curious...

Not really. I don't have photoshop anymore, otherwise I could come up with something, although I don't think I could render the metalic look. And computer monitors are all so different.

I've seen Toyotas which have a colour they call Cool Metallic Soda... http://marcel-kuruma.blogspot.com/2013/ ... japan.html

Maybe try to find some sort of transparent blue metallic fleck topcoat to apply over the seafoam? Might give you a cool effect.

Right there with you. When I modded that photo, all I did was slightly tweak the "hue" control in Pixlr and save. I was thinking exactly the same thing you said. Great mindz thinkinking alike and all, amiright? However, it turns out that the coolio color that snoozy is looking for is quite beautiful and not something you could easily achieve with a topcoat on the Zombie Blood. Here is a sneak peek at "Cool Metalic Soda." C'est magnifique, nes pas?

It occurs to me that those LEDs on the front are less like nipples and more like tongue studs :P ....
