As good a way as any.

His role in "Good Will Hunting" is probably my favorite dramatic role by him. He gave such a human, venerable performance.

Please suffer through the bullshit ads.

I'm shocked too. Not only a great comedian, but he played many non-comedic roles well in the movies. To me, his best movie was "Dead Poet's Society".
They said it was not unusual to see him riding a bicycle across the golden gate bridge.

This is beyond shocking and sad. No words for it. Devastating news.

And no way to comprehend how things could come to such an end for a person who had everything that life could offer, plus was surrounded by a loving family.

There is no reason or rhyme to this action. None.

 :(

Depression is a terrible thing. He and Jonathan Winters both had it. I guess Jonathan was just crazy enough to not let it destroy him.

Now we find out he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to the coroner's report.

We also learn he had a recent diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease. Not everyone advances to the point that Michael J. Fox has, but even then there is some limited treatment for symptoms.

He was found by "an assistant" in a bedroom where he slept alone. His wife left the house "that morning" and did not check on him.

Should we assume that more things were bringing sadness to this man than just a diagnosis of Parkinson's? Maybe.

Guess we will never know, but we will always continue to speculate...

Late to this thread but...

I never rode a scooter with Robin Williams, and I don't know if he rode, but he did ride bicycles, and I got to ride with him up Alpine Dam, north of San Francisco many years back. I would often see him out on his bike around Sausalito. On this day though, we got to chat all the way up the mountain. He was so engaging and non-pretentious, and I remember that I ever got to tell him a joke which he laughed at (Can't remember the joke, but perhaps he was just being kind).

I watched Mork & Mindy as a kid like so many others, and even owned the rainbow suspenders at the time. One of my favorite all-time roles of his was the little mentioned Moscow on the Hudson. It was a depressing flick really, but it showed his range, and it was such a powerful movie I thought. Perhaps that movie showed off more of Robin's inner turmoil than we ever knew at the time.

You're a lucky one to have met him and had the chance to chat so casually.

Moscow on the Hudson. Loved it. Elya Baskin was soooo good in that!
I remember a lot about that movie but one of the funniest moments was when he was working at McDonalds.

Yes, I feel lucky to have met him! The day he passed, an old friend of mine contacted me to remind me of that day. I hadn't seen her in a year, but it felt just like yesterday.

I think I will have to go watch Moscow on the Hudson again.
