I found this while poking about..10,000 miles only comes down to about 27-28 miles aday, I know some of you commute further than that...now you can get recognized for it!

The beauty of analog type dashes are anyone can read them when the bike/scoot is turned off. I've had a few people look at my dash and go "31,000 miles?!" followed by "On a scooter?!". I did around 22,000 last year between 2 scoots and 1 bike, with more planned this year when my wife starts riding (she does NOT do cold weather). Strange that I have no idea what the AMA does or represents, and I've been riding since my teenage years. Kinda like the Shriners, I know a lot of the members as friends but have no idea what they do. So who is going to rep the Buddy?

Ok, now I know who they are (AMA-still not the Shriners). What did you honestly think of them? I used to get snail mail from them, but never opened it-straight to the shredder. Are you planning on re-joining? Ever use any of the added value services? When I had my rocket bike, and the police would harass me, I just figured that's a right of passage. Same as when I had a lowrider car, you bring the attention on yourself, so you just accept it. The scooters just mix in with the back round, that's why I never considered a "protection" group like the AMA before. I do know a lot of members were suspicious of Mr. Dingle (spelled wrong I think), the new president of the group in the beginning. Change is always hard.

Been a member 24 years now. NOT a perfect organization by any means, but better than the one we don't have. I used to race, and joined then. I was a member of a road group for years and we could have never ran a poker run without them and their insurance for cheap
.
That mileage thing looks like fun. Now to figure out how many I have and join.

Speed is only a matter of money...How fast do you want to go?

The magazine alone I think is worth it, I like the way they listed what the different state and federal legislatures effect riding (basically a 'heads up").sc00ter wrote:Ok, now I know who they are (AMA-still not the Shriners). they did use of the HOV lane a national right for bikes to use (and yes, scooters can use it too).
I renew next payday.
