600 miles

I just passed 600 miles on the Brit this week. We had the 500 mile inspection done at Carlisle Cycle and Scooter (great place, great staff!). I needed to work in Mechanicsburg for a couple of days, so I Took the Brit (my daughter is going to be working down there soon, do I was mapping out a route that only involved seconday roads). On Saturday, I worked in down town Harrisburg, near the college my daughter attends, so i did the same thing down that way. In the process, I made a few observations;
1. Contrary to my expectations/fears, the scoot did really well, moving along steadily at 40-45 mph most of the time, moving over occasionally to let cars past, but generally keeping up with traffic.
2. People can be rude at times when I ride my motorcycle, but everybody seemed to be amused at the sight of a middle aged guy on a bright blue scooter. People waved, cars gave me space, nobody tailgated. It was all rather pleasant.
3. It is surprisingly easy to get around on a 50cc bike. I have to take longer/slower routes, but I have been able to get anywhere I need to get. While getting 9-100 miles per gallon.
4. I have had zero problems with the bike. If I plenty of time, I wouldn't hesitate to ride the bike across the country and back. Well, plenty of time and an airhawk, perhaps!
5. It is very easy to ride. I locked up the front brake on some gravel in a turn. All I had to do was reduce my pressure on the brake handle, right the bike a bit, and I was back in full control again. Light weight plus low power can be a very good thing!
We are all thrilled with the bike. It has exceeded our expectations in every way.

Wow - it is really sounding like you are becoming quite attached to the whole Buddy scene… your daughter may have to fight you for that Brit when it comes time to go! Most of us went through the same thing or something similar.

Speaking of Brit Buddy's, we should have our daughters Brit back mid July for the summer and I may just have to ride it a few times just to be sure it is still running well of course.

It always starts with " this will be a fun toy", and turns into adding on to your house so you can park all of them inside.

Dooooo it! My favorite part of riding is when both my boyfriend and I take ours out together (me on my Bud125 and him on his Hooligan). It makes for such a fun ride!
