Oil light came on, how long until I need to add oil?

I have a new buddy 50 and my oil light just came on at 500 miles. My scooter place is 10 miles away and I'm wondering if I can make it there or not to get more oil?

You should if it just recently happened. If you look in the oil tank, you should see some oil still there.

Do yourself a big favor. Go over to the scooter dealer, buy TWO bottles of oil. Put one in the oil tank, and the other one in the storage under your seat for the next time this happens.

500-600 miles is normal before the light comes on. It will usually flash as you are slowing down or hitting a bump, then it stays on for your final warning. I have never personally rode one with the light on all the time. Follow RoaringTodds advice. And try to resist using a 2 stroke oil that is not injector approved, even for a quick top to get the light off, as it can cause interesting problems. I have a friend that poured weed eater pre-mix oil in his scooter and quickly found out that the pump didnt pump enough! We think it was to thin. Lesson learned!
