NSFW - Start Seeing Motorcycles - video

Post by EP_scoot »

I saw this while going through Illnoise's blog, 2 Stroke Buzz.
I know he does not want hot links. Not sure what a hot link is so rather than linking to his blog, here is the link to the video: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=hhylx32b5 ... re=related

We should have something like that around here !

What is hot linking, anyway?
Beer is the answer . . . what was the question?

Yeah, that's a great video.

Hot linking is when an image (or video or whatever) is not saved on one's own page, but linked from another site.

If you know html, it would be if the img tag had src="http://twostrokebuzz.com/..." in it.

Hot linking is linking directly to an image on someone's site (or worse, embedding it on your site) rather than linking to the page that contains the image, so you're using their bandwidth to show the image (which, is often their intellectual property), without actually giving them any traffic on their site.

So you kinda got it backwards, because you linked directly to the video instead of my site, but thanks for giving me credit, that was unnecessary and it would have been dumb to make people go to my site to click the link to the video. What I SHOULDA done was embed the video in my page, so you coulda sent people there to watch it. Which is sort of like *me* hotlinking, but it's OK with YouTube, because it still registers the "view" for the person who posted it. If that makes any sense.

It doesn't really matter anyway, it's not like I have ad revenue to worry about or anything. It amazes me anyone would read my site, so thanks.

I didn't see it either.
Very true. You don't always see stuff you aren't looking for.
