ok my nikon is getting back to me today after what feels like a lifetime, so im opening this thread to show you guys just how much stuff there is for your bikes, quite honestly its scary and very cool at the same time!.

Anything you want can pretty much be done to your bike, from big bores to HID kits, from radial brembos to complete suspension forks. the list is just endless, im going to be uploading pictures of my local shop (yes this is just going to be one shop in the whole of the country) which i promise you will make your jaws drop..... :wha:

ok sorry for the delay, turns out the shop didnt fix my camera, so i used the camcorder one instead, not to bad pics though so they will do nicely i think :D

ok heres the shop entrance, looks small but trust me its big..... see my little PGO with the moto gp paint :D

Now that's what I'm talking about! While living/working in Taiwan, I saw several scooter shops like this one.
Makes me want to cry thinking about all that can be, but living here in a scooter desert! :cry: :cry: :cry:

A few questions:

1) Is there a selection for a wide range of scooters? It looks like mostly GY6 stuff

2) Is the demand for aftermarket parts a result of the lack of quality of original parts on cheapo scooters and the necessity for frequent repairs?

3) Are the aftermarket parts actually any *better* (manufacturing quality and/or performance) than the original parts, aside from being flashier?

4) Are the brand names legit? (Are those *real* Brembos, or licensed chinese-made Brembos, or just junky cheapo knockoffs with "Brembo" printed on the side?)

I'm just asking, because I've seen photos of scooter markets in India that looked like a dream come true for a vintage Vespa owner, piles of gear that cost next to nothing that was hard to find elsewhere. Then a friend brought a bunch of stuff over to try to sell on eBay and it was totally worthless junk.

That, mixed with the quality of restored Vespas and parts from southeast Asia, and reading about the vintage scene in Japan, where people spend thousands of dollars painting and accessorizing scooters that don't even run, makes me wonder if the modern scooter scene in asia is equally superficial. I don't mean to imply that is is, I'm just curious. It does seem like if this stuff was top-quality, someone would be importing it to the US…

I'm glad we don't have any of those types of shops here. I'd be living under a bridge with my scooter 'cause I'd be spending my paycheck on goodies for it instead of a mortgage!

wow this forum is smart, most people dont ask these kind of questions so i'm impressed.

1) gy6 is the biggest seller, anything for your 4 stroke goes here, i dont have a buddy/bubu so cant be 100% sure what fits, though my local dealer 'might' lend me one to find out, if your engine is the gy6 then engine kits are availible to take it a long way!.

2) no its mostly for people who want higher performance, if you increase the power you WILL need a stronger belt/variator/brakes etc. also alot of it is showing off (brembos USD forks). remember superbikes were illegal up until a year ago so this was the closest you could get!.

3) quality is much better, even my cheap $35 rear shock is much better quality than the OEM, changing the pulleys/rollers/variator/clutch makes a HUGE difference and lasts a lot longer.

4) they are all genuine, save for 1 copy which doesnt have brembo on it, he doesnt sell knock offs and doesnt incourage people to use it either, pretty much all products in this shop are hand made in taiwan.

you can spend as little as $30 all the way to $1000 on rear suspension, though the ones for $100ish are really really good!.

people are very snobbish here in taiwan, if you have a brembo brake people will think you have a cool bike and equally might steal it (yes they steal brakes here!) most kids go for looks over performance, i go the other way around :D .

im gonna try and find a way to do a group order thing for parts, but i dont have a paypal account so im a little lost for receiving funds!
