Post by AmyNTX »

HI,

So yeah, I've been asking alot of question..but I need advice:) I want to get a full face helmet..but want something light weight. When I worked for Harley, I loved the FXRG full face but it's $450! so...I would like to know what you all think..and if you have any suggestions:)

I have a HJC full face. It was only around $100 and I think it is pretty light. I used to wrestle and play lacrosse, so my neck is pretty big, so I probobly wouldnt notice a difference between lighter or heavier helmets...

You might want to be more specific regarding the style: 1/2, 3/4, full face or modular.

With helmets, the best thing is to go to local shops and try them on as what you end up is pretty dependent on your head's shape.
Beer is the answer . . . what was the question?

*quietly points to the thread title

I have a KBC full face helmet and it doesn't seem too heavy but I've never compared it to anything else that I've worn for any length of time.

Helmet buying is very personal- not all makes/models will fit your head. Unfortunately the only really good way is to go to a shop and try a bunch on. And then, when you find one you like, leave it on your head and walk around the shop for 30 minutes to see how it feels. You'll feel like a huge nerd but in the end you'll be much happier with your helmet!!

My suggestion is to go to MotoLiberty in Dallas. It's a huge store packed with everything you could possibly need. The staff is very helpful and knowledgable. They will get you all set with helmet, jacket, boots, you name it...
