Turn signals rewire problems
I attempted to rewire the oem and the dot turn signals together as per the directions to a post to this site and something has gone wrong. Now I have not power. I have to kick start the scooter and then it runs but everything that runs off the battery is wacked out. When I rev up my lights get brighter and when I let it idle the lights dim. Now none of the blinkers are working. I am wondering if something got shorted. I have put all connections back the way they were and still have the problem. Anyone have a clue what is wrong?

Did you ground BOTH the front wires and the back wires? When I did this, the original turn signals were ok, but the add ons were dim. Then my big brother pointed out that I had not grounded the add-on turn signals. It made all the difference!

If you released the turn signal wires from the connectors and attempted to force both wire ends into one connector, you may not have proper contact with the wires. This is a very tight fit requires precision. It may be better to cut and splice the wires using wire nuts or other wire connectors to be sure all the connections are secure.
The headlight will dim at idle and be brighter at throttle - that is normal on this scooter.
The turn signals should seem the same at all times.

Problem solved. Thanks for all the advice. Ya'll halped me fix my bike and now both front blinkers are working. A word of advice though. Don't waste your time trying to do this with out cutting the wires. It is silly and actually way harder. Just cut them all and putt all three together and use one of those plastic screw style waire caps. I was done in a few minutes. And a word of advice on fuses. The fuse that comes with the scooter is an 8amp 250volt fuse. They don't make these in the states. I bought a 10 amp fuse and although it is longer than then stock fuse if you break out one side of the plastic in the fuse house then it fits and closes perfect. Actually it looks like the stock fuse was too small.

Germ, did you have any problems with the 10amp rather than 8amp fuse? (since it has been 8 months). I want to hook up both sets of signals, and want to make sure I don't blow anything, but if I need a new fuse it'd be good to know if the 10 will work.germ wrote:Problem solved.
