Yeah, but I hate stickies.
Forum management techniques passed down from the founder (yeah, blame Jess). Plus, bumping helps keep you guys engaged! Right?

Me and my missus. Not the best picture, but if my scooter ever shows up, I'll get some better ones.
I own a Scooter Rental in Colorado, and am the IT Manager at a small law firm (which would explain how I can spend so much time here during the day. lol).
Wife is a Mortgage Underwriter.
We are the happiliest married couple I know. hehe
She surprised me with $1,000 she was squirrling away behind my back and gave it to me for my birthday so I could put a down payment on my scooter. Yea, she rocks like that.
I will not join a racist club that thinks one color is better then another. We are ALL BUDDY'S!
This is me. They say the camera adds 10lbs, so that means the beer only added 30lbs.
I am digging seeing folks faces, as a long time internet/bbs person, I've always enjoyed connecting the people to the avatars to the names. Makes it more personal.

Soooo . . . I think you need to reciprocate and be an ever happier couple !
Here's my gf test-driving a 50cc. It was her first time on two wheels since the moped she had when she was 12.
I'm just about ready to throw down a deposit on my first scooter, since my dealer is FINALLY getting the Italias in a couple of weeks! My gf plans to follow soon after with a sky blue 125cc if she can get it, but shes not too picky on color as long as she can get a matching helmet and jacket.
I'm Vietnamese. Born and raised in the US.
Old (no I won't go into detail, but I am way older than I look/sound).
Happily partnered, soon to be married.
Live in Hurst, TX. What they call HEB around here (not pronounced 'heeb' either).
Will graduate in the spring with a VERY hard earned Master's degree in Sociology. Yes, I am a nerd. I like to research things. Random things, but non random things as well. I am quite skilled at finding needles in haystacks.
I have five dogs, four cats, a million fish and a bird...oh, and a resident toad named Festus (he doesn't belong to us, he just stays in our backyard)
I am a master at all things 80's but most especially 80s music. I can name that tune in the first three seconds or less. Quite a lucrative skill at the bar, lemmetellya.
I am a freelance Federal contract proposal writer. I know the FAR like the back of my hand. And I research things for fun and fees on the side.
I will soon have Bonheur, an 08 Italia 150cc...as you know from my tales of woe.
I am still in mourning for George Carlin.

Where are you going to school?
I actually got an academic recognition from the UTA sociology honor society or whatever for my undergrad performance in Social Research Statistics. Not something I have much opportunity to brag about! I used to be a research and SPSS nerd, too. Got to put some if it to use in my brief (but still too long) stint as a political consultant (long story; my resume is pretty, uh, checkered).

This is me. We had to have photos taken for business cards and IDs and I thought everyone was taking themselves too seriously, so I busted out the Sears Catalog pose.
I'm in software development (product management/marketing).
I just bought a red Buddy 125 and a seafoam one for my lovely wife, after we parted with our Honda Shadow and Suzuki V-Strom.
When I really want to save gas, I ride a Colnago Super, or a Cannondale Super-V with a Burley Tail Wagon full of groceries.
If I'm not riding something, you can usually find me building a bike, or a bicycle wheel, or doing some sort of photography.
Oh yeah, in addition to the two Buddys we own, I convinced my company to give away a Vespa two years ago. I'm thinking of trying it again.

We meet again. People will talk.
Undergrad and Grad at UTArlington. Sociology for both. Also member of AKD. I own my own copy of SPSS (sad, huh?)

Cool tidbits, Eric! I'm a STATA nerd, never have learned SPSS...but I guess it's all the same, as nerdiness goes. I do want to learn R though. Any R nerds here?
Fueldrum wrote:Nice DW kit! Diggin' the short stack toms! Tone and Attack for days I bet!
Yep. And versatile. I love that they are really "awake" and you can tune them tight with full pitch for jazz, then slack 'em off and get great "TK-pooooowwwww" for rock, etc.
Got that kit in 2000, has never failed me. Studio, live, all genres.
MikieTaps wrote:I live right around the corner from there... where do you think you saw me? on the scooter or inside?
Well I think i saw that scooter in the parking lot...not the faceless white dude in Seattle. was on my way to Value Village, didn't see it when I got out. Somehow I had a sneaking suspicion that the 'cool' kids in Capitol Hill have the Buddys.
This is me on the Buddy I just bought last night. Cuz nothing says "Don't **** with me" like a guy on an orange scooter.
Went riding while the ink was still wet on the signed title, and again this morning. Can't believe I've never scooted in my life before. This is revolutionary. Filling up 1 gallon at the pump was like being in a parallel universe. Where we made sensible transportation decisions.

Except maybe a guy on a pink scooter. Then imagine that guy spectacularly crashing that pink scooter. That was me a couple years ago! Oh, the shame.
BTW everyone, in the "Admin acting PC and looking like an ass" department, I pulled a post from greencountry because I thought it sounded like stereotyping and unintentional racism... Turns out he was quoting the Fresh Price theme song. Who's ignorant now? Me!

The irony is that I didn't watch tv for about 7 or 8 years in the late '80s to mid '90s or so and now I make part of my living writing about and commenting on tv.

I'm a conservation society administrator, and while I really love my wife and two daughters, I'm most at home in places like this (Uganda) where my '06 Blur wouldn't come in so handy.
I'm the one on the left.

Thanks. I feel incredibly fortunate at 55 years old to be doing what I love best.

that's what i was thinking! There's never been a pop culture reference on this board that you didn't immediately nail!
Zuman--those pictures are amazing! No scootin' out in the wild though, eh? Very cool stuff!
Sikken--when you get your scooter, get in touch with Krustyburger. She's getting a Florida scoot group together. If you're close by, hit the road with them (check out the "rides" forum).
This is so easily my favorite thread on MB! Great to see everyone!

The Samburu and Maasai actually do a kind of "pogo" dance where they jump up and down while chanting. I just snapped a shot while they were off the ground.
Actually, they asked me jo join them and I did quite well, after which they offered me a wife. I politely declined, explaining that I am not worthy of their women!

jumping, ok. the offer sounds quite generous though. you must be an awfully good dancer. i love dancing but didn't pick a mate on his dancing abilities, maybe my brothers would have.
the photos are awesome and the adventures must have been doubly so. again, wow and thanks for sharing them,
I work as a freelance editor for TV, mostly a lot of reality crap. Currently, I'm working on a competition show for Planet Green with Tommy Lee and Ludacris called "Battleground Earth".
