Electric BuBu/Buddy Tire Size
Hey Ho,
I was looking at the electric BuBu/Buddy scooter. Nope I don't want no damn electric scooter.Anyway looking at the pic,it appears the tires are 12" size.Is that what guy's see? If so,does it mean we could fit 12" rims/tires on the Buddy? I think 12" tires are better all around.Lastly what would be involved with putting on 12" tires on the Buddy?
Tim

It sure does look like a bigger tire. I wonder how long or far they run before recharging. I personnally like the idea of an electric scooter. Then I would keep my gas hog (ha!ha!) for joy rides.

Plus, it does not always follow that a 12 inch wheel is better on a scooter than a 10 inch wheel (and a 14 better than a 12, etc). Seems to me that a close look at the small frame and large frame modern Vespas suggests that the smaller (10"/11") wheel has advantages for manueverability in a mostly intown lower speed scooter while a heavier, more powerful scoot benefits from a larger wheel.

A larger wheel is generally more stable at higher speeds, though I recently read that the Kymco People (16" wheels) was less stable than an LX 150 (11" front, 10" rear) on the freeway because the Kymco's tire is much narrower. Even the "smaller is more maneuverable" rule has its limitations.

I picked up my new Buddy rear rack (vass improvement on the new design) at the Scooter dealer in Mpls.
Oh, what an aray of scooters...that had me wanting a different scooter.
But the Buddy 125cc meets all my needs (except for an occassional ride on the hwy with car speeds of 65mph).
There was a Vespa GTS 250 on display and gotta say it looked like it would give a smooth ride. But then would be as nimble as the Buddy. I love my Buddy--it is so quick on take off and zips around, and easy to handle. So, I will stay true to Buddy for now.

Isn't this just a concept bike? If so, then the wheels maybe different when and if it ever hits production.
The scenery only changes for the lead scooterist.
