Front Rack - Useless?

I bought a used Buddy and it came with a front rack. Other than clamping a small basket I can't see what else it can be used for. I'd love for some ideas of how people use it and what sort of objects they use it to carry. I'm all for making it work, however haven't had an insight yet.

I suggest you pair it with a good cargo net and then you can carry darn near anything up there.

Or, like the person in the pic, something that looks like the Little- Boy Atomic Device wrapped in cordura nylon stuffsack. Something tells me that has some effect on the aerodymanics and handling characteristics of that scoot.

I can carry a 12 pack of bottles on it , heck any thing you can bungie or strap to it that won't present a handling issue, or excede commonsense.... it is a secondary external cargo hauling spot. from beer to grocery sacks its sort of like the bass-o-matic it slices it dices....

It's also safer, balance-wise, to put stuff up front than in back. It spreads the weight out over the scooter more evenly. A real heavy load over or behind the rear wheel can make you wheelie- or skid-prone.

I have one for my Vespa and it's perfect for camping gear or a 12-pack.

The best thing about it is that it gives you an excuse to punch out those ugly punch-outs on the front of the bike, ha. Those bug me.

The Buddy-rider at my work recently brought home two one-gallon containers of oil from the auto-parts store and strapped them to his front carrier. Said he never even felt them all the way home. I'd say that's a pretty useful carrier! I'm going to have to rethink getting one for my (future) Buddy.
