Filled up @ $4.26/gal, for a total cost of $5.61, unleaded, common grade. Hummer at the next pump pulled away at the same time. His pump read $74.24.

Ouch.

But okay I confess I smiled.

74.24 is nothing. Memorial day weekend, hitched a ride with the folks to Wisconsin. 3 people, 3 dogs and a load of luggage in back...

Transaction maxed at the $100 limit before the tank on the Suburban was even topped off yet. This was at $4.09 a gallon too. I did a  face when i saw the pump cause I thought my dad was kidding around.

Oh yea, and the tank was on the E, with the dummy light on when he started pumping the gas.

Oh you will have plenty of opportunities to "educate" people about your mileage when they ask!

A couple of weekends ago Mrs Raton and I were filling up both scoots. The total was like $5.65. I was adding oil to my tank when the guy across from us filling the Surburban said...with I smile I might add.."Oh you have to be kidding me!"

All I could reply was "I know, crazy isn't it! we used to be able to fill both for $4.00!!"
