i have had my healthy share of doing things to cats that they don't like. my advice for getting them in a carrier is to have one person hold the cat in a sitting-like position (between knees on floor works) and be petting them so they don't suspect, and then have someone put the carrier straight on top of them. they move up trying to escape and you turn it sideways and shut the door before they turn around.
Here are our babies we rescued several years ago. I can't believe anyone would have ever abused them and left them in a shelter. They were skin and bones when we got them and scared of everythiing. They have a forever home now and we love them very much.

once when my car was broke down one of my hairless rats starting having siezures, so to get her to the vet i had to put her in a taped box and hold it in my jacket (it was winter too)
i miss my little pinky (the pinker one,) the other was keemo and sadly, she died of cancer.
We live in a zoo! We have 3 dogs, a cat, 2 hamsters, a bird, and fish. We seem to have a problem with adopting everything!!
This is what our youngest dog (Lucy Lou) does to our cat ALL THE TIME!! He (Lucky) has his claws but never fights back. My DH made this video so he could show off "his" dog and to torment our daughter. (Lucky is her cat)
Love the fried dill pickles with either ranch or horseradish dip on the side. I think I like them better than fried green tomatoes. That batter looks pretty light like a tempura almost.
What gorgeous critters! I love the cat shot. I'm a feline in my other life.
Calpurnia is beautiful! She looks like my Otto, actually.
AND, I think "To Kill A Mockingbird" has contributed much to the naming of our four-legged loved ones. We now just need Jem, Boo Radley, Dill, and Atticus. Come on!!

Or maybe Christy is a Shakespeare fan?
Absolutely!!! You're totally right, Bubbles! As a former English teacher, I spaced it---can't believe that!

We have five dogs: Dillon (I like to call him Marshall) - Yorkie, Bubba Einstein (cuz his bright ideas aren't always so bright) - Boston/Basset mix, Muench - Shepherd/Akita mix, Ty - Lab/SharPei mix and Kirby - Heeler/Cattle mix
Four cats, all dark short hairs: Harwood, Mombo, Brat and Sketch.
A bajillion fish in a 60 gallon tank and one betta named Fish.

I found a Quaker at the Greenbrier River in West Virginia 2 years ago. I took him home and to the vet for a check. He was a great bird but he only loved me. Always attacked everyone else!! Sadly, he got spooked by a bunch of kids and took off. (He got great height even with his wings clipped) I looked for him for hours.... gave up after dark. A neighbor found his little lifeless body in her yard early the next morning. Something got him and it really broke my heart. I never thought it was possible to love a bird but I did!
I am so happy that you have as many pets as you do. Now I don't feel all alone being the caretaker in my very own zoo!! Friends have started calling me "Noah" and "have I built my ark yet"!!
Yesterday may have sucked but TODAY IS MY LUCKY DAY!!!!
Here are a few pictures of my two babies... They are my two Great Dane puppies! Gage (the brown one) is 16 months old (145lbs) and Neela (the blue one) is 9 months old (100lbs). We LOVE them!
The pictures are a couple of months old... they get bigger everyday!

docutech wrote:Wow those dogs are huge! What is your pet food bill look like each month?
They each eat 4 cups of food, twice a day... so that's 16 cups a day, but I've never sat down and figured out the monthly cost...although it seems like we are ALWAYS buying food
My Animals:
Baby (22 lb. Siamese Diluted Calico mix- the love of Zac's life. If there was a fire, she would be the first thing out)
Frida (no pics yet- my new black kitten- also well on her way to obesity)
Sparticus (Asian box turtle- I've had him since I was 10)
Beatris (Red-footed tortoise- no good pics yet, but she is beautiful)

One of my all time fave Stephen Wright jokes: "Some friends of mine were trying to be clever so they named their dog Stay. He got really confused when they called him: C'mere Stay. C'mere Stay."
In the spirit of Thanksgiving figured we needed some food pics in this thread. While not a dead turkey this was by far the tastiest airline "meal" I've ever had. Smoked ham and fabulous soft cheese on a fresh brioche roll. Was also quite good coffee [not pictured] for airplane fare, plus a wee little swallow of yummy mango smoothie. Only detractor was the OJ. As good as the food is in England [including loads of fresh fruit and produce from Spain] they simply don't have any decent OJ available. No matter where you buy it or at what price it all tastes like the watered down semi-fake stuff served in school cafeterias.
This is Kashmir (Led Zep fan, you ask? Why yes, yes I am). She ran into my house to hide when Animal Control came to take the cats from the horder next door. I started volunteering at the local animal shelter after she found her shelter here with me.
