Corazzo lap blankets!

Corazzo is finally starting to make lap blankets - they're listed here, but surprisingly I don't see them on the Corazzo site. No pictures up yet, but I've seen them in person and they're black with a little (4") Corazzo sheild on them.

The outside is waterproof w. reflective stripes and the inside is fuzzy (not like, crystals seat covers fuzzy, just like jacket fuzzy). Not sure whether they attatch to the scoot or the rider, but Chelsea (head honcho at scomo) said she had a hillarious picture of one of the techs with one, so I'll post that if I can get her to email it to me. From the description on the website, it sounds like it goes around your waist and then has velcro strips you can attatch to your scooter?

Sounds more like a skirt than a blanket

But after riding to work in sub-freezing teps the other day and freezing my bum off, I probably shouldn't laugh.

Velcro on the inside surface of the blanket attaches to the included other side of the velcro, which you can place on your scooter where necessary to keep the bottom edge tucked in around your ankles.

But how does that work so you can still get your feet off at a stop? I need pictures...

And why not just get some (armored) overpants insted? I assure you it will not look any worse than a guy riding a scooter with a blanket on his lap...

yeah, I think I'll be sticking to my oh-so-stylish tights from Target. Toasty warm and come in a variety of colors! Plus when I wear them under jeans, no one sees 'em. Except the folks I show them off to.

I don't quite get the Velcro thing either...

I bought a pair of relatively cheap snowboarding pants on sale...

They fit over normal jeans/pants, they're all sorts of warm, and they have vents in case you get too toasty, not to mention they provide some extra padding and have elastic around the ankles to keep your heat in...

For less than $70 delivered to my door and with multiple uses (great for snowboarding [duh!], walking the dogs in cold weather, snowball fights, etc.), I think they were well worth it (and my more expensive snowboarding pants that actually get used for snowboarding won't get ripped up should something bad happen whilst riding).

AYC,

Are you riding? I thought you were out of commision until March when you can get your endorsement.

Where did you get your snowboarding pants? I don't snowboard or ski due to a bum knee, so I am not up on the best places to get those sorts of things or how much they should cost.

I am doing pretty well with layering a pair of Nike thermals under the work pants, but that does nothing for wind or rain, and affords virtually no protection from road rash.

No, I'm not riding.

I went to court this morning, and it looks like I'm going to have to keep requesting later court dates until I get my endorsement (theoretically, in March), and then the prosecutor has agreed to drop charges...

Unfortunately, that means that I really don't want to risk getting pulled over on a 'congested' road again and having a few offenses for the same thing.

I have a Hoodie and I love it! Got it from Santa last Christmas

The Mens XL is probably comparable to a womens 16-18. But your best bet is to find one locally and try it on. Vespa Philly sells them.

Not sure about the hoodie in particular (still hoping Hannukah Harry will bring me one), but Corazzo's listed sizes for Mens XL jackets is 46/39/36 (Chest/Waist/Hip in inches).

They go around your waist and cover you lap and legs. Your feet can easily do what they need to do. And it is made of great durable cloth. It is a one man company. He is a scooterist in Oakland, CA. I am getting the blue one. Lots of people I know swear by these for the rain and cold. Not sure how well it would work on the Blur, due to the blur having that high center part in the foot area. Check them out...not a bad price either.

Dang, the Scooter Skirts are even more expensive than the Corazzo ones! Once again.. I think I'll stick with the $5 tights from Target.

Oops, perhaps they did. I got that from the Corazzo web site. They are still listed as a dealer.

yessss thank you, weebl! i got no response to the questions i e-mailed scomo, and the corazzo person e-mailed me back saying the one person who knows the sizing dimensions was out of the office.

i was really enamored with them at first because i love to not have to go to a store, but then they charged my card for the rear rack when it was out of stock. after a few months i ordered one from motorsports and asked Scomo for a refund. it took three emails before i got a response, which said they had been having email problems and would refund it. but another two weeks went by without a refund. since it had been a full month since i started asking (and my next payment was due) i asked my credit card for a temporary refund. it ultimately took 6 weeks to get the refund from Scomo and even then it seems to have been handled by my card rather than by them actually crediting the account. since most refunds post the same day as a return, it seems there's no excuse for that amount of time to have gone by. now i'm not sure if i'd be willing to order from them again, even though i had had several good experiences with them. but there is no way to tell on the site if they actually have something in stock or not.

anyone have other online places to order from?

Yeah, you'd think they'd resolve their issues so we could, ya know, spend hundreds of dollars on their stuff?

Still no response from Scomo, but I'm not holding my breath. The people at Corazzo are working to kit me out in a plus-size hoody! Whee!

I LOVE my hoodie. It's just large enough for lots of ventiliation in the summer and room for lots of layering in the winter, and since I'm not embarrased to wear it as I would most motorcycle jackets, it is perfect for my attempt at year-round commuter scooting (though people are still trying to convince me the Buddy will have to go on hiatus in Jan-Feb, i say
