NBR: Interesting CraigsList scooter/motorcycle finds

Post by babblefish »

Check out these Ruckus "clones" on Craigs List.

The 50cc version.

The big Ruckus. This one is 150cc, not 250cc.

If you look at photo galleries for the Indianapolis Dealer Expo, you'll see tons of these and all sorts of other scooter clones from China. Most haven't passed DOT/EPA; up to the importer to deal with that (meaning they can just import it illegally and try not to get caught).

I'd be surprised if these were truly CA legal.

Not sure if they're legal or not, but I wouldn't mind having that big Ruckus if it uses a GY6 type engine. A lot of hop-up potential there.:)

Ok, I just talked to the seller of the big Ruckus clone. He says they are certified for CA and come with a one year warranty. It uses a long block GY6 engine. Apparently, they have a store in the L.A. area and Bay area. Hmmm....

Judging from the description, it sounds like they jacked up the mirrors and slipped a new bike under them.

Yeah, Charlie's Place is pretty well known for their Honda restorations around these parts. He stocks a lot of NOS and used vintage parts for old Hondas.
