diy cup holder (for stella)

Post by toeknee »

i thought i saw a thread floating around talk about creative ways to hold things on a Stella (but now i cant find it)

Thought i would share my very easy diy method to holding my coffee cup.

i have seen the suction cup idea (and i don’t trust it) i was also not a big fan of mounting something permanently to my bike

its basically just a piece of sound absorbing foam that i cut to fit inside of the bottom area of my glove box with a whole cut in it, also cut 4 slits cut in the hole (going out from the center) and made the hole a little bit smaller than a starbucks cup (so no matter what size i get, it will always hold it tightly)

enjoy

I drilled two small holes into my bike to mount my cupholder.

With my Modular helmet I can enjoy a beverage while stopped at lights :)

What are those two pouches on your glove box door?

Smart! If I forget my upholder (that hangs from the underseat hook), I usually just wedge the up in the corner of the glovebox using gloves, tools, rags, etc. This works 85% of the time. The rest of the time I spill varying amounts. A couple times, coffee all over.

Thanks for the idea
I like this a lot

I am going to add a slot to hold my cell phone (I usually ride with it in the glove box so I can resist checking my pockets to make sure I didnt drop it)
Right now I put it in a camera case to keep it from getting banged up on the metal interior of the glove box, but a slot in the foam would be perfect.

if you look in the second picture (look at the area on the inside of the glove box door) I used double sided sticky Velcro to attach two pockets I made out of old corduroy pants, one for my cell and another from my wallet (I hate having things in my pockets)

I figured using the double sided sticky Velcro was easier to upgrade the holders down the road (no pun intended)
